I took these photos in China during a family vacation. What I love about these photos is how they seem to express age and experience through their colors and design. Also, the dragon-like figures perched on the roof convey that they are protecting something sacred inside, possibly an altar or shrine. I adjusted the brightness and contrast to bring out the colors and shadows. The perspective also makes the structure look intimidating as it towers over the viewer, although it is really only 30 ft. tall or so.
These photos are particularly interesting because of the angle I took them from. Far in the distance, a few people can be seen strolling down the alleyway, however because I took the photo crouched near the ground, it makes them seem farther than they are. Also, what I appreciate about the windows is that they all reflect the same part of the sky and it gives a sort of balance to the photo, as if the sky, sun, and buildings are all meant to be there. I adjusted brightness and contrast as well to make the sun rays not as glaring.
Lastly, the sewage pipes are in fact the same size, though the first one looks almost twice as big as the second. This an interesting effect of perspective and angle.

These photos were taken in Sweden and are particularly interesting because of the angle I took them from. I took these photos of a bridge connecting two sides of a river. What I like especially about bridges is the symbolism they convey. They symbolize stability, connection, and possibility. These are things that I need to remind myself of when times get tough. These photos capture this emotion and remind viewers of the same positivity. The blueprint filter further reaffirms this through its outline, implying that the events in our lives are orchestrated and planned.
This photo was taken in China and it closely resembles the first photo. The reason I like this photo is the clarity of the sky and the aggregation of people in a seemingly vast and holy worshipping place. This gathering of people reminds us that despite all the civil strife and international conflicts, we as humans can come to gather in mutual harmony in places such as this. I purposely included a lot of the sky to emphasize the limitlessness of the sky. By climbing these stairs, we can share a piece of that.
